This presentation will focus on exploring the Defence Work Experience Program (DWEP). DWEP is designed to provide high school and tertiary students aged 15 years and over, with exposure to Defence careers. DWEP activities are intended to be hands-on, interactive and meaningful in nature. They are conducted at Defence bases and workplaces across Australia, across all three services and the APS. Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) attends the majority of our placements and will present the ‘next steps’ that can be taken to begin a pathway to a career in the Australian Defence Force.
Presentations will be delivered by representatives from the Defence Work Experience Program and Defence Force Recruiting.
This presentation is suitable for anyone who has an interest in a career in the ADF, has children who are interested in undertaking an exciting and interactive work placement, or are interested in a career in the ADF. School teachers, careers advisors, and anyone who works with youth will gain benefit from this presentation also. Any industry representatives from Defence who are interested in finding out about Work Placement and potentially offering a placement are encouraged to attend and to reach out to DWEP staff afterwards.
